Currently I am doing a project testing on a distribution board. When I want to use a multimeter, I come across a symbol as shown in the attachment. What is the real meaning of this symbol and how to use this function?
There are three symbols in the picture. From left to right, these are,
1. Buzzer : Continuity check mode. In this mode the multimeter makes sound when it detects electrical continuity (low resistance) between the probes. This mode is useful for finding short circuit, pcb traces etc. by hearing sound only.
2. Ohms : Resistance measuring mode.
3. Capacitor: Capacitance measuring mode.
You can select any of the three modes by pressing SELECT button.
