I know this question was asked before many times but here is what want::

I want a camera which can capture video. The interface with my system can be UART, SPI or any other interface that I can understand. The FPS is not very important, 30 fps or just 4 is ok.
I could use a camera module which captures JPEG and sends the image using UART. U cannot remember its name now, it was some time ago.
I want any camera module that can be found on digikey or similar websites. Resolution is not an issue. Any resolution will be ok.

I hope if the camera datasheet can also help me write a PC software that can show the video. If the camera video bitstream can be decoded and viewed on an LCD, this will be good but not important.

Thanks

You want this:
www.vimicro.com
VC706
The output is JPG or others, communication is RS232 there are full data-sheets available and test applications

BE WARNED…. There are MANY conmen on Taobao, alibaba, Ebay offering 'VC706' they are NOT.
They are poor implementations using cheap 8051 emulation and 'VC706' specification, unfortunately most cannot make 5fps before breaking up

ENSURE you get a picture of the Chips and they are clearly LASER marked 'VImicro'.

There are MANY other types, but I know VI micro works on UART, I don't know your dead line, so it may be better to get something that 'works' rather than the latest available.

find enclosed the 'test app user guide' and some basic info, I have more but it runs to several MB

Thanks you for your reply. But as I mentioned, I want video. UART as I think cannot have high bit rate suitable for video. I also already tried one of the cameras using jpeg and UART. I could receive a picture.

I will also check the website you provided and the links you put here.
JPEG is for pictures. MPEG, H264 and similar algorithms are for video. I want a camera that can give me video compressed data.
Thanks
