Hi, can anybody recommend a good RC extraction tool that comes from somewhere other than Cadence/Mentor/Synopsys? Their licensing terms are outrageous and conflict with our network security policies.

Doesn't have to be freeware, and probably shouldn't -- I'm happy to pay for it.

Just needs to do GDS+SPICE in to SPICE out with the parasitics added.

If Silvaco still offered EDA Tokens to new customers we would use their product; those are the most sensible licensing terms I've ever seen. What a shame they stopped it.

A few other companies offering parasitic extraction tools are:

1. Silicon Frontline Technology (F3D tool)

2. Tanner EDA (Hyper PX)

I would suggest you to to start from option (1) - as I work for that company :)
Please send me an e-mail if you would like to discuss.

What tools are you using in your design flow (circuit simulation / schematic / layout / ...)?
And what kind designs are you doing?

Regards,

Max
