How to access the entries in Memory List in ModelSim directly in testbench

In "Memory List" tab in ModelSim, one can check the values of the entries in a RAM block directly through GUI, however is it possible to access these values in a testbench, where the values can be directly accessed and compared with some truth table without following the specific timing scheme for the RAM block (i.e. Raise "rden", give "address" and wait for a clock cycle)?
