should i must use any terminating resistor in the input of am26ls32. i am having a servo drive in that the encoder outputs are as follows OA+,OA-,OB+,OB- i think differential can i use the above ic to take a single line out such as A and B alone with respect to gnd. my doubt is terminating resistor is needed? if so what is the value.

regards
kalyan

the distance of the wire is 3mts

If you are using twisted pair, a 120 ohm resistor would work. But that's without you telling us anything about your encoder outputs; what are they +/- 1,000,000 Volts?

And why would you use a differential receiver and connect it to a device with differential outputs and then NOT use the differential outputs?
