Data across power line

Hi !
I have the following problem:
I want to do a network like RS485 , a master and some slaves, using the power line for the power supply and bringing the data signal.
I have seen that microchip do this with his onewire, but I need that the length of network be around 500 meters .

Someone can help me ?

Thanks

Re: Data across power line

It is rather difficult issue although some manufacturers claim success in this field.
You probably can do it within one building up to the meter box. Beyond that point sending any signals will be uncertain.
Good starting point will be to search this forum as this issue has already been here for several times ..

This is a good point.

I don't need a hight speed communication.

But if I use a 24 V dc power source There is somenthing else ?

Thanks
