Hello everyone
I'm having trouble with a chinese device. Mostly because it's chinese and the manufacturer is not able to give me any support in English :bang:
Since most of the information I gathered on the problem seem to be useless, I'd rather explain the problem in a simple and generic way and give out further information only if asked. I don't want to overwhelm you with confusing datasheet and chinese gibberish
The device is an adapter that you plug in your car's diagnostic port and lets you connect with a computer or mobile device.
It's got the same MAC address as every other identical device and (more worryingly) the standard bluetooth pairing code 1234. I want to change that.
I'ts made of two PCBs stacked one above the other.
The bottom one features an ELM327 chip that does the actual communication with the car's electronic control unit.
The top one is a bluetooth module that acts as a serial port that frees you from the need of a USB cable connection.
The manufacturer of the whole device is kind of unknown (there's a "Konnwei" sticker outside but that's about it).
The manufacturer of the bluetooth module alone is called Redgoo, the module is called BT-RG10-10 and the only information I was able to get from them (they dont' speak English, they pass their emails through Google Translate) is:
- the module has to be connected to the pc through the "UART tool"
- the commands are
then reset the device and the pin will be changed.
Needless to say that I tried every possible way to do this but I'm not getting anywhere. So let's just assume that I don't know anything, what yould you if you were in my place?
