802.1ac frame protocol

Hi guys,

I have setup 802.1ac wifi router. But when I'm checking from my laptop (using wifi monitoring tool) it shows that network is 802.1n.
I know from point of view RF signal 802.1ac has additional 80MHz, 160Mhz, 80MHz+80MHz bandwidth (VHT) and data rate is higher.

Does someone know how to distinguish 802.1n and 802.1ac networks at frame level?
Do they have different frame construction? Which part of frame responsible to identify the network type?
Thanks for help.
