To drive it high you'd have to accept that VOH=VCC-VT(N).
That is a pretty harsh penalty especially if VT(N) is (say) 5V
and Vcc(min) is 8V. It's on you, to figure out what VIH(min)
has to be and whether your NMOS source follower drive can
reliably get there, across conditions.
