I am looking for options to transmit simple commands wirelessly to my computer , I need to choose between RF xmiters/rcvrs and blue tooth.
which one is easier to integerate? considering I want to build my own hardware and not use any commercial modules.
my goal is to to send some commands to serial or usb ports of my pc where i already have a utility to read the ports and take action .
I am using atmega1284 in my design.

thanks

Since you want to built the hardware...

Simple commands can be sent by a homemade AM transmitter, and received by an AM 'crystal' type detector.

The detector will send pulses through the USB data wire.

Since you say you can read the USB port, a pulse conditioning circuit should be able to provide 0V or 5V to the data wire.
