Plasma gasification is today’s modern technology in eliminating garbage and landfill problems. The process involves the use of a high tech plasma torch to burn waste in a closed, controlled environment with no hazardous emissions. It is said that

the process is 2/10th of 1% away from zero waste. One of the byproducts of gasification is hydrogen which can be a separate source of power.
 

And you generate the plasma for free, of course. Comes
with the lunch.
