photo transistor - newbie question

Hello friends,

Have some simple question for you.
I'm having problem with my photo transistor (TSOP34838) because when I desolder it from PCB (AirCondition) and solder on 10 meter long 3 wires cable,it stopped to work Cause wires are to long. Photo transistor have 3 pins,supplies with 5v on right pin,middle pin is ground and left is for data.
Probably I need some amplifier (?) but I don't know how to make it.I have already tried some circuit with op amp 741 but it doesn't work.

Can anyone provide me simply circuit for this?How to amplify signal

PS - photo transistor is receiving IR signal from my remote.All I need is to move it 10 meters trough copper wire.

do you want to amplify or is it used as a switch?
 

What do you see at the terminals when it stops working?

Extremely long leads can bring you oscillation problems,
consider the 3-wire bundle as a lousy tank and feedback.

Just to pull decent DC curves from high frequency transistors
on a ~10cm wire length fixture often required ferrite beads
to keep the thing from oscillating. At 10 meters, bet on
more of the same and look at how you can kill any HF
feedback.

Putting some sort of buffering at the far end between the
transistor and the cabling, with plenty of decoupling,
might help. So long as the buffer is stiffly supplied and
bypassed, not allowed to bounce the supplies every
time it tries to switch the line. You might want to limit
the output current explicitly.

OK,now I need circuit of some kind of buffer.Anyone can provide ?
I found some but it seems to be for guitar pickups :(

PS - Power supply is available at far end so that's not problem.

If there is anymore information's i can provide just ask me.
@dick_freebird: I didn't connect the transistor to oscilloscope (oxscope PC program) but I can if that will help.Maybe,for example oscilloscope result before and after the wires connected?
