hello
Iam trying to simulate simple circuit using Cadence Virtuoso SPECTRE (iam beginner)
I added Tech files provided by NCSU 1.5.1
and i can see all libraries added to my library manager
but when i simulate using SPECTRE
i got this error
ERROR Found by Spectre
unable to run circuit preprocessor (/lib/cpp).
No Such file or directory
i hope you really can help me in this problem :(

Did you click on 'Check and Save' button before running circuit? I think running circuit without checking and saving gives that error, I am not sure though.

First of all thanks a lot for caring :)
i tied it again and checked and saved before performing any analysis and i got the same error

ln -s /usr/bin/cpp /lib/cpp as root

i didn't get it i am not well familiar with linux
i would be grateful if you can give me more details please

Open terminal (i.e. xterm, aterm, gnome-terminal or konsole) login as root via "su" ("sudo su" in ubuntu) command and make a symbolic link for cpp (C preprocessor) using mentioned command "ln -s /usr/bin/cpp /lib/cpp"

i tried it and i got error (no such file or directory) also
is this a file may be missed in my tech files ??!!!

oooh sorry for this fault and thanks a lot for your patience
but it gives me the same error even even after i wrote the command :( :( :(

Hmm, interesting. Looks like your spectre is incompatible with your system gcc version. What's your distribution, gcc and spectre version?

Maybe try to run spectre in verbose mode - edit your runSimulation script (should be in your_working_directory/Sim/cell_name/netlist/spectre/schematic/netlist/) and add "+debug +warn +info +error". Maybe it gets more info about reason of your error.

Thanks a lot Dominik
actually after a lot of trial and errors i downloaded the other techfile 1.6 for Cadence 6.1 rather than Cadence 5
and it worked with out errors
Thanks a lot for your help and your time really appreciated :)
