hello everyone
I'm doing simulation of GTEM cell using HFSS 11.I had crwated 4 different models of diiferent size and materials.when i simulate 1st model it simulated completely bu for other 2 models simulation completed without getting result.and for the last simulation error came "hf3d error matrix exception: solver out of memory" then i used college PC which have 3 gb RAM.but getting same result.I used material copper, teflon, silver.my size of cell is length 274.7 cm and width 100 cm what should i do now??rep ASAP.thanks in advance..here i attach one of pic of error simulation:cry:

Hi Vihang

The simple truth is that GTEM cells have large meshing volumes (compared to wavelength) so unless you subdivide your free-space and excitation / metallisation regions into FEM and IE solver regions, the size of your FEM solution will be beyond the capability of all but the most powerful servers.

Have a look at the HFSS start-up screen, you'll notice an option to create an HFSS-IE design instead of an HFSS design. Using this option you can create your geometry and define boundaries (conforming to your geometry) to force separate solution of IE and FEM regions.

An approach to this simulation strategy has been published, though this refers to CST instead of HFSS:

Good luck!

thank you sir,
but I don't know any thing about sub dividing or FEM or IE solver..so plz give me some guidence I didn't see any IE on start up..plz help me..i'm heavily thank ful to you..further I want to tell you that there is nooption for IE on start up screen is there other way to do it??
