[SOLVED] Cailbre PEX error with IBM130nm

Hi all,

I am encountering the following error when I run extraction using Calibre v2011.3_29.20.

Error while compiling rules file /nfs/guille/ams/senbird/IBM13/IBM_PDK/cmrf8sf/V1.8.0.4DM/Calibre/xRC/cmrf8sf_8LM_323_detailed.xrc.cal:
Error PEX5 on line 232257 of /nfs/guille/ams/senbird/IBM13/IBM_PDK/cmrf8sf/V1.8.0.4DM/Calibre/xRC/cmrf8sf_8LM_323_detailed.xrc.cal - capacitance or resistance extraction layer not properly configured in CONNECT operation: M3.

The only line I changed in cmrf8sf_8LM_323_detailed.xrc.cal is uncommenting the line "INCLUDE $TECHDIR/LVS/cmrf8sf.lvs.cal" as recommended. The error is pointing to line 232257 which is encrypted and does not give any clue regarding the issue. If anyone has encountered this issue or have any clue, please let me know. It would be of great help.

Hi,

I am new to the configuration of Calibre. How do I configure the resistance or capacitance recognition layer? Which file should I look for or is it done through the gui? Any help on this is appreciated. During the run, I am pointing to the
cmrf8sf_8LM_323_detailed.xrc.cal file.

The files which are in the Calibre xRC folder are the followings
cmrf8sf_8LM_413_detailed.xrc.cal
cmrf8sf_7LM_313_detailed.xrc.cal
cmrf8sf_8LM_323_detailed.xrc.cal <-- this is what I am using
cmrf8sf.calibre.cellmap <-- do I need to use this file somehow?
cmrf8sf.xl.cal <--this is for inductor extaction (not required for our project)

I'm not familiar with the cmrf8sf setup for Calibre, sorry. Find and read your PDK docu!

Hi,

The problem is resolved. Previously I used the metal definition which was incorrect in the cmrf8sf.lvs.cal file.
#DEFINE 8LM_3T //LM Option (5thin-3thick) (M1-M5,MQ,MG,LM) //previously tried this (incorrect)

When I use the correct one it works fine.
#DEFINE 8LM_2T_3RF //MA Option (3thin-2thick-3rf) (M1-M3,MQ,MG,LY,E1,MA) // correct file
