toggle output

i have a 16-bit timer that toggles output when there's a compare match.

i change the compare value and note down the corresponding frequency at the toggled output.

from those data, i plotted a graph compare-values vs frequencies..
the graph is not linear... is it supposed to be linear?

Re: toggle output timer

It has to be nonlinear! Plot a graph of compare-values VS period of toggle it will be
linear.

sorry, what do you say? linear or nonlinear?
my plotted graph is nonlinear, and i think it should be linear.

Re: toggle output timer

my chart looks like this.. (vertical axis is frequency)

Re: toggle output timer

Hi ur chart is nonlinear its correct This is what ur are suppose to get theorotically.

If you plot period Vs compare value you will get linear plot!

Re: toggle output timer

oh yeh you are rite...stupid i am... just dun realize the fundamental stuff..
