I am using Encounter RTL Compiler Version 10.1.

I am getting the following warning message as a result of using the command (report ple). This warning message is about the tool dropping certain metal levels and it looks like the following:

** = 'M1' is dropped because its Resistance/Length (value_of_resistance_here) is too large (threshold is 50).

I would like to find out how to change this threshold so that the values that I enter in my LEF file are not changed with the threshold value which is somehow set to 50. I went over the command reference and attribute reference manuals, but could not find out how to solve this issue yet.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I think your problem is caused by high fanout nets.

Hi RCircuit, for info, the message is just based on library data analysis done by the tool, which no design is yet read.
