Hello,

is there any way I can configure CD40103BE (presettable down counter) to stop after Carry Out? like one shot counter. After a trigger it needs to count the Jam, when it gets to 0 it gives me Carry Out signal and STOPS! I dont want it to count again.

any help?

thank you.

Although not properly recommended due to don´t employ a synchronous approach, you could try firstly connecting a XOR 2-port gate.

thank you for your help, can you be more specific, where to connect the XOR gate?

Try this way:
  • Connect 1st gate input to external measured signal
  • Connect 2nd gate input to counter output
  • Connect gate output to counter input

Correction: Not a XOR gate, but a NOR.

Thank you, i will try it tomorrow and post the result

Solution purposed at post #4 by FvM is quite better, due do not require external gates.
