p type mosfet switching

Sir,
can i apply a -ive at the gate of a p type mosfet for switching a +ive voltage across the drain and source of a p-type mosfet if so where should be the +ive in put to be fed, is it to the source or to the drain and where should be the load connected, and what are the pre caution to be taken fo the in put/ out put of the mosfet.

Regards v.Sambath kumar.

P-Channel MOSFET will require a negative gate to turn on.

For Vds, +ve voltage should be applied on the source, and the drain should be kept negative.

Make sure that the gate voltage you are applying is greater than Vgs(threshold) that is specified by the manufacturer of the MOSFET you are intending to use.
