hi,

I am using Fargo maestro 20 gsm/gprs modem with bands 900/1800.

When i communicated with it using hyper terminal i got responses for all the at commands normally.when a message is received new message indication is obtained and i could read the message from that location.i can also dial a number.

but my problem is when i try to send an sms, it always gives error. after i gave the command 0x1a the modem waits for some time and gives the error message. is it damaged?

i checked two of the same modem and got one working properly and other one got the same problem as in first.

What could be wrong?

thanks in advance..

Post code.

He is just testing gsm modem using a terminal program. There is no source code yet.

@S.P.S.

If you are testing the AT+CMGS command to send a text message, you should input the CNTL+Z character after you type the text message and not the 0x1A character or the carriage return or the line feed character

ah my bad... 0x1A is the control+z character...

Ignore my previous post.

@SPS

Maybe you can post here the response of the GSM modem, the one showing in the terminal program
