Strange encounter in HFSS

Hi,

Just like to check with you guys have you encountered a case where under the setup boundaries/ sources, I wanted to select th two taper line( indicate in red) for the boundary but I don't seem to be able to select them? What could be the problem? I'm currently using the HFSS 8.

Hi,
first a boundary/source can be applied only to a surface
and not to a line.

Secondly it seems you decide to use the select by name
select one object and on the right column
a list of all the face will appear
select what you need and then apply the bc you want

Hi,

Apparently I think you have forgotten to join up the finline taper, that should be the reason why you are unable to select the taper as an object.
 

Hi everyone,

I have joined up line and it,s now a taper. But unfortunately this problem still persists. Earlier on I have drawn a similar design and I didn't encounter any problem like this. By right once when I joined up the line, the taper should be an object, therefore under the select by name, I should be able to select the faces right?
