Hai all
I am trying to interface a serial JPEG camera module to ATmega32. This is the first time i am trying to interface a camera module with a microcontroller. I am not sure that if it will success. My aim is that i want to extract some predefined characters from the captured JPEG image. I searched in google but i couldn't find such an algorithm that can use with microcontroller. But there are some dedicated sites which will provide the character detection using OCR technique. But that i can't use with micro. How can i start this. Anyone can help me. I purchased the camera module from Rhydolabz. Here i am giving the details of the camera..

is your controller support DSP?
because this task is of DSP controller and image processing.

No it does not.. are you sure that this is only possible with DSP..I heared that now a days even microcontroller having no dsp function can also use to perform image processing when i was searching in the internet. Is there any simple method for extracting the character from an image..Please

yes but as you want to recognize the character which in image so ..
