Lcd display "hello world"

please help me display "Hello World" in the lcd of altera de2. i have zero knowledge how to use the lcd display. this is for our project. PLEASE?! thanks

Can you give details of the LCD display which you are using
for example - is it 16*2 lcd ??
 

2*16 LCD. i dont even know how to use softwares like NIOS.

I mean can you use Microcontroller interfacing with AVR to display in LCD ?
 

i haven't tried NIOS.
no, we can't use microcontroller.
