Hello,

first post here, sorry if not correct section.

I'm new to electronics, my background is software development, but I've recently started to gain some interest in building devices that interface with a cell phone.

I'm trying to do a simple (I hope) project to start with this kind of things:

1 : Have a temperature sensor + bluetooth device
2 : Pair it with an Android phone
3 : Develop an Android application , click in a button, get the current temperature and store the data in the application.

To start with the first part :
- What components do I need?
- What tools do I need?
- Are there any sites/tutorials/books that teach this kind of things?

Thanks

If you want to read in temperature from Android application using BT then you can make a uC board with LM35 or DS18B20 temperature sensor and a BT module interfaced to uC UART pins. You send command from Android application and uC receives it through BT and then sends the temperature reading back in string format. Android app should read in the string and display it.
