Hello guys!

I'm new to this community :)

I come from Italy and i hope i will stay well in this forum! :D

Ok, let's go with my problem.

I've this motherboard:

ASUS P4P800-X with a Pentium 4 3,2GHZ as a processor

and when a press the button of power on the case, the pc don't start. There is no signal on the monitor and no beep from the motherboard.

I removed from the motherboard the RAM and the video card but always there is no beep from the motherboard. I removed all of other things from PCI connectors but always no beep from the motherboard, the green led on the motherboard is on and the fans of the power supply and of the processor are working when i press the power button.

I tested processor and power supply on an other motherboard and they work.

I dont' understand what is not working on the motherboard.

What do you think that don't work? What component on the motherboard it is not working for you?

Thank you in advance for the attention :)

edit: i did also the Clear CMOS procedure but always the motherboard don't work

The problem is still with cmos may be the clock is not working or even the power-supply may have ac components try another power-supply if the problem is still there concentrate on cmos circitry.

Hello! Thanks for the help! :D

I tried your advice but the problem still here.

I tried to change the battery of the CMOS but nothing. I tried to redo the procedure of the Clear CMOS with/without the battery but the problem still here. I changed the power supply with an other (that works on other motherboard) but nothing.

The motherboard do the same things: the green light on the motherboard is on, the fans of cpu and of the power supply are running and there isn't beep from the motherboard (because I don't put on it the RAM to hope in a beep). The speaker works on other PCs.

I have done this morning same photos to the motherboard:

Are mosfets normal with the red circle? :-?

What do you think isn't working on the motherboard?

Thank you in advance :)

HELLO RBenson90,YOU JUST REINSERT BOTH IC ,THEY ARE UNDLINE BY RED COLOUR,REPLY MUST ABOUT RESULT.REGARDS board.jpg

Hello SANDEEP ANAND,

I reinserted the IC that you told me(i also did the CLEAR CMOS the procedure after i reinserted the IC) but the motherboard do the same things that i wrote on top :(

It stay with the green light on, the fans of cpu and of the power supply are running and there isn't beep from the motherboard.

What do you thing that don't work on the motherboard that have to repair?

Thank you :)

check your processor & ram on other motherboard. your mother board bios may be corrupt replace the bios eeprom

Do you think that is the bios eeprom? Processor and ram works on other motherboard without problems.

This motherboard doesn't do the beep if i remove the RAM or processor :( And the speaker also works on other PCs.

Do you think i've to change the eeprom of the bios? What test i can do to be sure that this is the problem?

Thanks you :)

find the same type of mother board manufacturer & model name chipset should be matching & try to interchange the bios eeprom ic . if your bios eeprom works on other working motherboard then their may be problem in the dc to dc converter

mmmmmmmmmmm, i find some motherboards as the mine on the web but it costs lot of money, around 50€ as used.

However, can i test some circuit on the motherboard that may cause the problem on the motherboard?

Where i can find schematic for this motherboard?

Thanks lot :)

or you can find any similar motherboard in your local scrap dealer or old mother board vendor. getting any old mother board will
be a very cheaper than repairing it.
take any heat gun like hair dryer or hot air gun and heat the bga chips, this procedure will also work. find the mosfets of the dc to dc converter & check if it is short or working

Hello padeep,do you have schematics of nvidia gt-520m?

Thank you for the answer :)

In the garage i've some motherboards, one very similar because is an Asrock with 478 socket and DDR1 as RAM.

Ok, i will test mosfets of dc to dc converter. How i can find its?

I need schematic of the motherboard?

Thanks you :)

YOU MAY FIND HERE SCHEMATICS,ITS A VIETNAMESE WEBSITE ,USE ANY TRANSISTOR FOR ENGLISH.REGARDS :)https://lqv77.com/2009/03/25/mainboard-kich-nguon-khong-duoc/

Thanks you but there isn't for my motherboard :(

Do you know an other website where i can find schematic?

Thank you.

see this page here bios programming is shown, finding a similar mother board at any junkyard will be good . you can swap the bios to trouble shoot.

@ sandeep i am not having that schematic you can google for that

I have p4p800 board but there are other numbers besides x I don't know which one you have but mine is dead but cmos is good it boots up and problem is with sounds and usb power. This board is atlest 10 years old. I still think you should concentrate around the bios chip and see if it has clock, reset is working fine and see some data activity on address and data lines that should tell you something is happening, so get an oscilloscope or logic probes and do some basic trouble shooting.

OK,actually that grafix card (NVIDIEA GT - 520M) have two of resistor (R8190,R306) are missing out due to mishandling ,I JUST WANT TO KNOW ITS VALUE.i did't got any other same gfx card for repairing,so whenever you got schematics/gfx card please tell me its value of these two resistor.REGARDS

Thank you, very good site to learn something about the motherboard and its bios.

see if it has clock
how i can see this? With which instrument?

see some data activity on address and data lines that should tell you something is happening
Did i need detailed schematics to do this?

oscilloscope
i see that an oscilloscope costs much for my budget... can i use my PC as an oscilloscope ? I see a program called Visual Analyzer that can use the sound card of the PC to be an oscilloscope. What do you think about this?

Thanks you so much :)

Yes you can use pc as an oscilloscope but make sure it is safe, normal oscilloscopes are almost always isolated from electricity using an isolation transformer other wise as soon as you probe there could be direct short and can cause a lot of damage to your pc and the device under test. So before you do that make sure you take necessary precautions and understand what you are doing. Alll you are interested in is to see that there is clock to the cmos ic which you can check by locating the xtal (crystal) which may be rectangle shape with markings on it, you do not need schematic for that, also the logic probes are much cheaper and safer to use as they have their own power-supply (internal battery) but that will only show you activity ic clock and you will not be able to see the voltage level or cleanliness of the waveform. Hope this helps.

Thanks all of You , My question is ,can I test that CLK , and other signals by using PC/sound card based Oscilloscope
with zelscope or Visual Analyzer ?
