Hi friends ,

I want to compare the power performance of my two different designs...

Is it possible to compare the power performance in Modelsim simulator using verilog files ?

Pls suggest me...

Well modelsim simulator cannot give a power number, it could generate a VCD which will be used to a power estimation tool like PrimeTime PX.

Explain about VCD ? How to generate VCD ?

Is it suitable for a particular modelling or all types of modelling ?

read the modelsim simulator manual.
VCD is value charge dump, which dump for each signals you want when the signal change (time, value)
Based on that the power analyzis could recreate the waveform and estimate the state of the logic, and then the power consumption.
