Voltage Reference Measurement

Hi all,

I have several questions on the measurement of the voltage reference.

1. Do I need to design a PCB for the testing of my voltage reference? Can I just put my circuit on the breadboard?
2. What equipment should I use to measure the output of the voltage reference? Can I measure it using the simple multi-meter?
3. For the PSRR testing, do I need to build any extra circuit to separate the DC supply and the AC noise? Can I just inject a sin wave with DC offset (for instance, VDC=1.2V and vp-p=50mV)to the VDD pin of my design and calculate the PSRR from the DFT spectrum of the output?
 

1. A well designed breadboard should do.
2. As its a voltage reference, its output should be stable over a wide temperature range, so you need an oven and a refrigerator. its is unlikely that a multimeter will provide enough descrimination to measure the output drift, i.e. You should be able to measure the output voltage to better then 1mV.
3. To test for PSRR, set the input ripple to a convenient value - say 1V p-p, by having a small value reservoir capacitor or loading it with resistor that is drawing a large current. Measure ripple on output.
