Hi all,

All i want to know is what type of relay i am suppose to use to switch a 3-phase motor or an AC input device?

What i thaught is to use a solid state relay. Am i right??

hello,

In industries, it's common to use Solid state relay to drive heaters
but power relay to drive AC motor, mainly for safety reason
even after power relay you use a Power unit to control the speed..

and a thermal-magnetic tri phases breaker (disjoncteur) , calibrated on 1,2 x times nominal Intensity
to protect the motor.

Thank you paulfjujo. What exactly does thermal-magnetic tri phases breaker do? and even i taught of using SSR. i will study what exactly is that get back to you.
Thank you

hello,

Gives some details : what is the power of your AC motor ?

here is an example of breakers to protect the motor
... combine with fuses !
