Hello,

Can anyone recommend a high gain, low power BJT for use at 450MHz?

I have been using the BFT25 but I was wondering if there is something out there with more gain. 10LogS21/S12 is roughly equal to 14db.

Thank you

Infineon SiGe BJTs have more gain and low power.

Between the SiGe (with extremely high ft) and BFT25 are many other options.

The limiting factor will be what you can get at your place. You can do a selection on ft and noise figure when required. Select something that has higher ft at the intended collector current (as ft varies with current). Both noise and IMD depends on collector current also.

You may know that high ft is nice for gain, but can be troublesome to keep stable (especially out of band).

you may read http://www.nxp.com/documents/selection_guide/75017272.pdf to make a first selection.
