hi,
can anyone clear my doubt,

i have created a pad of
drill hole 40mm,(no tolorance)
regular pad 80 mm,
anti pad 85mm,
thermal pad 90mm.

then i have applied
80 mm soldermask,
80 mm paste mask.

is this creation is wright or wrong?

when i gave the board for manufacturing ,they asked me to give more solder mask ,
now, what i should do?????

Hi Dani,

Hope you have typed your units wrongly as mm insted of mil.Lets forget about the units.
You need to increase the solder mask opening value further by 5 more.Keep soldermask as 85 since your pad size is 80.

Hi shabu,
Antipad atleast 20-30 mil extra and don't give paste mask top for Through hole component,Tolerance is 3 mil for plated Hole and non-plated 2mil tolearnce
==========================
Hi,
while creating Through Footprint you have to follow this thing
Drill Hole-pin +10 mil
Pad size-drill +20mil (if it is more then two layer ) if it is single side board --->drill+40mil;
Antipad-20-30 mil (TOP,inner layer,Solder mask Top and Bottom,Bottom layer )
=========================================================
For SMD components
TOP, solder mask top,Paste mask top.

please check the image file for smd component better follow recommend pad size or IPC-7351

Hi Kabalee,

I just answered only for his question about increasing soldermask.
Unless and until you attach a property to the pin, Only the design rule clearance will be taken by the pin, so need not worry about the antipad defined in pad.
Why not giving paste for thru hole pins, we used to provide for SMA'S in their assembling layer for better assembly.Tolerance is criticaly based on the footprint.
I would recommend to follow tolerance as preffered in the datasheet.

hi sabu & kapil,
both the answers suits me a lot.thank u.

hi kapil,
till now i have given paste mask for through hole pad,will cause any effect?

Hi Dani,

Unless and otherwise it is a SMA footprint , you need not apply paste for a through hole pin.
There is no need for paste for through hole pins to get soldered.
