Simulation error while modelling a re-chargeable battery in multisim.

Hi

How do u model a rechargeable model in software(Multisim) ????

  • I googled the same question and found that one can find Non Ideal Battery in Education Edition in Multisim. I was testing my circuit using a Non Ideal Battery of 12V of capacity 150Ah with internal resistance 5.5mΩ. But here's my problem - At the o/p end of my circuit earlier i was getting 14V at 1A on connecting it to an inverter. Now on connecting o/p to battery the voltage at the o/p of my circuit got changed to -14V. I am getting 4.5A current into the battery,so i'm sure it's charging but then why is voltage -14V ??

  • I also read that one can also model a rechargeable battery with a large capacitor in series with a large resistor. How large should those R & C be for a 150 Ah battery. Are those values of R & C related to internal resistance of the battery ???
