Hi all,

I am trying to implement channel estimation using LS estimators for poweline. However, my channel estimation is based on preambles. On the TX side, based on the standard I have preamble transmitted on 36 subcarriers (out of total 128 subcarriers). I have 8 such OFDM symbols which makes 1 preamble. So my tranmission format will be

1 Frame = (Preamble = 8 OFDM symbols) + (header = 10 OFDM symbols) + (data = 22 OFDM symbols)

Now my question is how can I estimate the SNR using the preamble? I know how the LS estimators work. But I need an idea of how it can be implemented using preamble as I described before.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I guess the level of the rest (128-36) subcarriers (during preamble) can give you the understanding of your channel noise.
