i just bought a solar panel, i wonder how to block backflow of current by using diode. what the suitable diode for my panel?what are the series? give me the image of that diode.. please

specification of solar panel:

Voc= 21.6 v
Isc=3.23A
Imp=2.91A
Maximum power= 50 w

Its normal Schottky diode, just case is different to better sustain of power dissipation.

If you insist on classic case design check P600 its for 6A or 80SQ040, 6A1S GLX, HER605 GLX. Standard diode makes higher voltage drop then Schottky.

I suggest that you read part datasheet and pay attention on part specification and capabilities in relation with temperature. Usually on roof temperature at solar cells panels temperature is much much higher then 25C.

6 Ampere diode is ideal for this case.
Model No: 6A01 or any other simple 6A Diode

Note: No need to use Fast Recovery Diode or Shottky Diode in this case... You will waste money if you do that..

Schottky diode is not expensive price is like standard diode. When you have solar power every volt is important, Schottky have lower impact on voltage. Of course Schottky is not only options.

Tell that to diode when becomes very hot. :smile:
