Can you help me on adaptive numerical solution of partial differential equation.

Re: Adaptive Numerical Solution of Partial Differential Equa

are u to write program for solving PDE's? wat sort of a PDE do u mean? basic equations or complete, including Coupled PDE? i hope there are methods available for solving PDE's... i dont get what u mean by "adaptive" here. there are many different types of PDE's available that has been explored and methods for finding the solutions for PDE's of that form have been discovered... could u please provide more details!

regards,

Thank you for your reply.
The objective of Adaptive solution is to appropriat flexible griding of Domain of solution, in order to time and memory efficient solving of PDE.

what i feel is, the way to choose what method to solve for a particular type of solution can be made adaptive and not the method itself. and it is not required also, i feel. Because, suppose if u are to design a complete partial differential equation solver, then the input wen given, u are to analyse the structure of the equation and then "choose" the methods available! They would be the best compromise i feel, because, as u put it, the memory management and the "speed" can be optimised then very well! Pls discuss ur views so that it would help me understand better, what u have in ur mind!
