Hi, I want a suitable footprint for SMD electrolytic capacitor 470uF/25V and 1000uF for Altium, but can't find any thing. please help me to find it.
Thanks.

Can I use "Chip_Capacitor_L or M or N" library ?
The biggest obstacle that lowers speed of board design is to find an appropriate footprint and library for board's components. any schematic and PCB design software don't have a really complete library of schematic symbol and footprint library also component manufacturers Do not follow a common rule for code marking and packaging. I think that component manufacturers must design and give related library and footprint file of every component for main electronic design software, like a datasheet in their website as a free customer support service.
if you search in the web see that the most of electronic related questions in forums is about finding footprints or understanding package type or converting file format from a software to another software for example conversion between protel and proteus and eagle.
I wish that see a day this problems is solved.
if you know a complete reference web site about electronic components packaging and footprint guide please tell me.
Thanks.

I've been working on www.pcbcomponentlibraries.com in my spare time to try and tackle the problem you mention. The database is small but growing and with enough user / component manufacturers involved, it may be possible to grow a large enough library to make it useful. Take a look around the site and let me know if it is what you are looking for.

yes, this is a good idea.I hope you be successful in your work and also try uploading footprint to your database to complete it. Please continue your good work.
Good Luck.
