Dear Sirs and Madams!

I am working on zone preamp using TEA6420 and I have two questions:
  • Why there are so few links regarding this IC? Is this IC obsolete? I got couple of them on eBay, but not on original manufacturer's website?
  • And I am reading datasheet all and all over again and I cannot figure it out. In datasheet it states (under Software Specification paragraph):
The following are selected after power-on reset : input 5 selected for all outputs ; gain = 0dB.
That is all ok. But according to I2C commands, there is no way to send a command that will, let's pass input three to two ore more outputs. Can someone check the datasheet for me and confrm it? Why is IC put at power on in state that I cannot achieve via I2C command?
  • And from datasheet, there is a pin that configures ICs I2C address according to its logic state. That means, that without additional hardware, I can daisy chain two TEA6420s in same system. But if they are daisy chained, how do I route input signal from first TEA6420 to output of second TEA6420?
  • Are there any other ICs on the market that can switch input(s) to one or more output(s)? If not, how do I achieve this task (I need general guidelines)?

Sincerely yours,
Marko
