DRO

I want to design a DRO with ADS.who can give me some examples or articles?
Thank u.

Re: DRO

Hi,

For DRO design, u can refer to the book by Kajfez, its titled "Dielectric Resonators". I am attaching an article published in microwave journal, it may help you to begin the design. For more u can refer to the sites that offer appnotes like trans-techinc.com They are also very useful.

Cheers!

Re: DRO

How can I find the book you mentioned

DRO

There is an application note AN1035 from CEL.

Re: DRO

I suggest you to do the EM simulation of DRO module first.

And then put it into the ADS and go on.

Re: DRO

what is EM simulation. How to do it

Re: DRO

Hi,

I feel the discussion about what software to use is not that important. First you should develop the idea/concept of oscillator design and the role of negative resistance in that. Then how to incorporate a DR so as to make it a DRO. And for this, i feel initially any decent RF simulation software is sufficient. Once that is achieved, then go into more involved design.

As for the book by Kajfez, its from Artech House.

Happy reading.

Re: DRO

I think it is very difficult to model the DR coupling with microstrip and to change to CLR parallel model.

Can anyone give some advice for this?

Thanks. Regards

Re: DRO

ddpower,

how in depth is your project? If you just need the product out and working, just use the equivalant RLC + transformer circuit to represent the DR in your design. This circuit may be found in books like Pozar, Gonzalez and "the" DR book by Kajfez etc.

To know the RLC values for your DR part, look up the mnf. datasheet. Or, http://www.trans-techinc.com/ provides a useful prog called CARD for doing so. CARD should work even if you don't use their DR since DR frequency and Q depend on dimension and DK of material.
