Hello,

Can current flow just as easily in either direction in a PFET, as long as the channel is enhanced?

.......i realise that it can't in a PNP, but a PFET is different right?

Yes, current can flow in either direction in a FET as long as the gate-source voltage is sufficient to turn on the FET. That's the basis for using a FET as a variable resistance.
