Build easy MPLAB-6 ICD-2 for PIC18F2550

This is an In-Circuit-Debugger compatible to Microchip's new MPLAB-6 IDE (ICD2). It was designed to use as few as possible and only common parts while providing basic functionality sufficient for home use.

ICD2 -------------------------> dsPIC30F2010

Target MCLR -----------> MCLR (PIN 1)
Target PGC -----------> PGC (PIN 18 )
Target PGD -----------> PGD (PIN 17)
GND --------------------> GND

On dsPIC30F2010 , you must connect Vcc (+5V) , GND , Oscillator
and Not connect resistor between MCLR pin and Vcc for weak-pulled up to Vcc

this MPLAB\ICD2 directory\bl010101.hex??ok??

bl010101.hex------->>>pic16f876!!!
use 876 or 876a??

bl010101.hex is bootloader.
Not firmware.

First , you must program bl010101.hex to PIC16F876
For PIC16F876A i'm not test.

Salam,

Read this from the site:

The firmware for the original ICD2 is shipped within Microchip's development environment MPLAB. Download and install it. In MPLAB's subdirectory named Icd2 you will find a file named Bl??????.hex. (Actually this is nothing more than a bootloader. MPLAB later downloads the required operation system for the current target device by itself at runtime.)

hi,

nooknikz told me this schematic is working and I just draw schematic and PCB in protel DXP. I did not test the PCB yet, I'll make it tomorrow morning and I'll test it. It seemed ok to me now and I'm posting here.

zip file includes schematic & pcb files compatible with Protel99SE and 3D view of PCB as gif image. Actually there is something wrong with 3d view (you'll see ;) )

I was building the pcb for this ICD.
I have stopped when i saw you did it.
Please can you send the pcb in PDF format (1:1 Scale) because i don't use PROTEL.

Anyway, Here is the Schematic in OrCAD 9.2 with the netlist file for every one wants to build his own pcb.
