I am wanting to provide users with a visual feedback from our device (microcontroller driven) I have found about interfacing a microcontroller via I2C to a video encoder. However what does one send along this I2C bus?? I cant seem to find any basic howto or tutorial giving me the global picture on how to talk to a video encoder and how this video encoder I2C protocol works.

It is not clear what you mean with "video encoder".

In my knowledge a video encoder takes some form of video (analog or digital) and code the information reducing required bandwith to transmit it.

Be more clear

Try this linj:

If you are still not satisfied go to the most popular search engine in this forum (GOOGLE) and type .. "video encoder"+I2C ..
