Hi everyone,

I have built a circuit as shown in the picture below. Honestly I'm new here and I don't have much experiences in this one. I want to make an automatic AC lamp dimmer using microcontroller which is completed also with LDR. The problem is that I don't know how the dimmer circuit is and how the connection of my microcontroller with the dimmer circuit. Con you help me or give me the circuit that I needed? or any links that may help me? Help me pls.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Well, if I use that circuit, do I still need a zero crossing detection circuit?

Better use always optotriacs with zero crossing detection, its not some difference in price, price is almost the same. With detecting zero crossing you will get better usage efficiency of sine wave. Like additional zerro crossing ensures switching in moment of voltage zero, rather than applying the peak voltage across bulb filament.

Well if I may know, by looking at that concept, then what method I should use, PWM ? Phase fired control ? or ...
