how to protect audio&video circuit ??

hi,all

we all know that dvd player has audio&video output, my pcb will a&v interface. when we plug or unplug line from the socket on my pcb, it may be has effect on my circuit,how to do remove it ?
I want to use tvs to do it. But i am not sure if tvs has effect on signal quality.
anybody can give me a suggestion on how to design protect circuit or tvs selection?
