Well, I'm very late starter for PCB Designing....!
Any way...

1..PCB Designing HOWTO? I'm complete newbie in this area kindly provide links to basic info
(links to basic books on EDABoard/web, tutorials etc)
1.5...well! need soldering guide...other than from AVRFreaks...(currently stuck with DIPs...long way to go for SMT)
2..with out getting into any religous discussion: Is Orcad Layout Plus good for complete newbie?
(if yes provide jump-start info i.e tutorials..)(if no: recommend other..with tutorials)
3..A "Routing Tutorial" is also required.
4..By Adding suitable contraints like holes and distance between them: I want to use PCB-Layout
software to treat viro-board/bread-board as single layer PCB. (mainly for utilizing auto routing capability), well is this possible? is there other way to do (quike good routing)

eagle pcb howto

Yes Orcad Layout Plus is enough for a newbei. Install Orcad and follow interactive tutorial in Help of Layout Plus

Thanks

pcb design free tutorial

look at the orcad schematic- help menu. you will find an animation for teaching orcad. it wil be very helpful at the beginning.

As you are a "late starter for PCB Designing....! " is suggest you:

1) Decide which PCB package you want to use
2) Ask specific questions about the package (e.g. How do I.....)
3) Get some tutorials on that package

Remember people want to sell their products they want your money but they also know that you will go for the one that is easiest to use so if their package is advanced they will give free tutorials/introduction.

If you can not get a demo and an introduction I suggest you dump the product as the aftersales service will only suck your money.

pcb eagle teaching

Hi,
I myself am a late starter in PCB design. I am currently using Orcad Layout Plus tutorial Lesson 2 ( if you have problems running it see the post in Doftware problems). The problem is that many things are unknown even in lessons. In Example : Why do I have to make a border? What is this things with Layers? How many layers do I have to use in order to design a simple electronic design, lets say an OpAmp? More questions after these answers...

questions on designing a pcb

No body hasn't send me the recipe of making
actual PCB *by hand* -- so I can use it design hobby circuits...

other question are still unanswered...espcailly routing problems, books....

please need urgent help....

thanks anyway....

1. h**p://www.electricstuff.co.uk/pcbs.html
2. soldering is very easy. you just need a good solderstation. i use a wtcp-51 from weller.
3. i don't like orcad and i personally consider it as 'to much' for your needs. eagle from h**p://www.cadsoft.de would be good for you.
4. forget autorouting. do it manual and you will have a good pcb.
good luck.

I think Eagle is a better software

pcb route lesson

Well I don't know HOW to do layouts but I am getting into it myself at thsi time.

I am about to take this course as well.

I work in PCB manufacturing company. From my experince with other designers what I can tell you is that if you are a newbie you are better off with eagle.

its cheap and it has good auto rout as well.

On the other hand if you could afford orcad then that would be awsome cause it is way wasy better than eagle.

Also as far as figuring out about rules for designing is concern, I can recommend this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Circuit-Desig...4014568?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1177016000&sr=8-2

As far as knowing how to do specific stuff like creating obrders and stuff, you best bet is to use the software's help menu. They all different for each software.

I also found these websites as well:
http://www.smps.us/pcb-design.html
