Hi all,

I bought a multimeter (Digimess HM100) a couple of days ago. When i was testing it i accidentally measured 220Vac when the multimeter was in impedance measurement mode. There was a spark.
Now when i measure the impedance with open connection it gives a value of 2.12k. When i short the input it gives 0 ohm. The dc and ac values are ok though.
I checked the fuse but it is ok.
What do you think guys? Is it possible that i caused the problem?

Thank you in advance.

Most likely. It sounds like a component has fused and created a slight 'bridge' internally, with the resistance you are seeing on open circuit.

Look at it as a learning experience. I did when I tried to measure the voltage on a component that was on a live chassis (I didn't know) and I did something similar to a much more expensive meter.
