error in microcontroller coding

As like 18F series, can we write C code for 16F877A? I tried for 16F series in that way, it gives an error like -- Error: unsupported processor 16F877A.
I have installed complete version.
I had given proper path for required files.
how to correct it give me idea.
 

Which complier that you are using ?
I am using Pic CCS C without any problem for pic16f877a
 

You have installed complete version of what?

Are you talking about MPLAB? C18? C18 does not support PIC16. Or are you using something else...
