capacitor selection

I need to simulate my dc-dc converter with load capacitor of 20uF and its ESR.
How much will be the ESR for 20uF ceramic capacitor. can anybody guide me in selecting the type of capacitor for low ESR and low cost.

Re: capacitor selection

Your best bet is to use the selection guides on the manufacturer's web sites. They will give you the numbers. The murata site shows some graphs where the ESR is a function of frequency.

Re: capacitor selection

I must admit that I haven't seen 20uF ceramic capacitor.
There are choices of tantalum or electrolytic caps in this range

I can find some ceramic capacitors with 22uF on web. Is it rare to find such high value with ceramic?
Is ceramic is cheaper than tentalum?

You can find 22uF and 47uF ceramic (X5R) capacitors at Murata.
