Hi, I am doing a project on "Using GSM-voice channel to transfer Digital Data". Actually the main

aim of the project is to convert the digital bit stream into the "Speech like signals" and then

send it over the voice line.

Actually i will be using "Data Acquisition card" along with the mobile phone(acting as a modem).

The head-jack pin(attached to the mobile) and the ear-phones will be cut-off ,so the wires will be

striped-off and will be given in to the "Data Acquisition card".
So by using "Data Acquisition card"(along with mat-lab) i will convert my digital data to analog

signal("Speech like signal" to be more precise).
But the main problem i was having was , how should i convert my data into "Speech Like Signal"?
Although digital to analog conversion is easy, but how to achieve the above mentioned "Speech like

signal"?

Regards.

I'm not sure you're going to get a very data throughput at all with this method. Bearing in mind that the GSM codec
is optimized for voice. Anyway, what you're doing has another name: modem. If you search the internet for it (or old books)
you should find lots of information on it. You're essentially trying to do the same thing that modems did.
