if you are a begineer, i suggest that you install you linux in vmware, then it will be easy to search materials in internet and you can uninstall this linux and install another version linux.
but there is a problem that cadence ic demand that your video card set to 24bit depth color. In a pure linux, it is easy for most of the video card. but in vmware you should download a vmware driver from the vmware home site and install it,the you can set the 24bit depth.I have use this method ,and the IC work correctly.

vmware have nothing to do with IC5

Hi

I have experienced installation of RH7.2 with Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 without any problem on my PC.

tnx

but you install it in vmware, you can change linux version easily

IC5 have tobe installed in RH7.2 alone

Thanks ... I've installed RedHat7.3 on VMware workstation for windows. Then I installed IC5 in RH. As u said, the problem was with the SVGA driver and I had to modify the Xf86config file to solve that. Now I can run IC5 :D.

as3 is better

How about the runing speed for IC5 in Redhat7.x over the vmware?
