Problem with the microwave oven , not working

physically it seems that as i press the start button on the digital keypad the microwave oven doesn't work , although its other settings and buttons are working fine on the digital keypad

Might there by any problem with the interlock switches ???

thanks

when i set the timer or timings they're set down but then as i press the start button the set time (timer) doesn't start (the seconds don't decrease) and hence neither the microwave

the microwave oven doesn't respond to the start button

if the start button is defective then what to do ?

Hello danishdeshmuk,

I don't know you and your knowledge about the circuits of microwave ovens. So I'll give you a security advice to handle it inside, because I will not be guilty, when you are going dead about electric shocks.

Inside the oven the microwave tube use very high DC - voltage. Never touch any part of the circuit because there is no isolation between line and the circuit. The transformer is only an autotransformer.

I don't believe, that the start button is broken. There are some security switches inside, like doorswitch and thermal circuit breaker.

Better it is to give the type of the oven, and I look for a circuit diagram.

Regards

Rainer

I will second what Rainer says. Not only are the voltages very high (KV), the available current is several Amps which makes it doubly dangerous. There is also a serious risk of RF leakage when the oven is dismantled, you can't see it or hear it but it can cause almost instant injury or death. If you do open it up, unplug it from the power source and do not reconnect it until the casing is back in place.

Brian.

I have checked the interlock switches are all fine

But still no response to start button.

The microwave is working well with grill function & dishwarm function , heating is alright , tray is rotating fine.

Can we repair the digital keypad and/or its only one button i.e. Start button ?

Hello danishdeshmuk,

without a service manual it will be difficult to repair digital pad.

Please tell the producer and type of the oven, and I will try to get the service manual.

Regards

Rainer

Dawlance is the producer
what do you mean by type of the oven ?

It has magnetron and other same circuitry ...........
