Hi,

I was considering a power inductor https://www.bourns.com/data/global/pdfs/SDR0603.pdf
I was thinking whether i could use it as differential mode choke in AC line (230 or 110VAC) Is there any factor that restricts such a usage..(of course if the currrent rating is sufficient)

Im just looking for a differential mode inductor to be used in an EMI filter..

Thanks for any help,
Regards,

Low voltage inductors shuch as this one have no sufficient isolation between windings and core. Therefore, it will not be safe.

Those ae single inductors and designed for low voltage applications. The 1V specified is the voltage it is tested at, not it's maximum rating. You can use it as an AC line filter provided you stay well within it's current rating and provide sufficienent isolation from surrounding components. The voltage between one end and the other should be very small so breakdown to the core shouldn't be a problem. It would be safer to use a part designed for line filtering however. I can't see how you are going to use it diferentially though.

Brian.
